The Jaguar Type 00 is a striking rebirth of an iconic marque.

If the woke marketing didn't do it for you, then this might.

Jaguar is embarking on a daring new journey, unveiling the Type 00, a design vision concept that redefines the brand’s legacy and future. As part of its bold transformation into an electric-only luxury automaker, Jaguar’s new mantra, “Copy Nothing,” takes center stage, celebrating artistry, innovation, and heritage. Showcased at Miami Art Week, Type 00 is a dramatic expression of Jaguar’s commitment to standing out in a unifying electric car market.

The Type 00 (pronounced “Type Zero Zero” by the way) exemplifies Jaguar’s new creative philosophy, dubbed Exuberant Modernism. This philosophy merges vibrant aesthetics, forward-thinking design, and a holistic sensory experience, propelling Jaguar into a class of its own in the luxury electric vehicle market.

The concept’s breathtaking silhouette is characterized by a sweeping roofline, and a fastback profile, complemented by striking 23-inch alloy wheels. The hood is far too long for an EV, harking back to the proportions of front-engined grand touring cars. A seamless blend of modernist surfaces and dramatic proportions, the Type 00 is a vision of the new jag—bold, innovative, and unafraid to challenge EV conventions.

The Type 00 nods to iconic Jaguar models like the E-Type while forging a future-focused identity. The design embraces modernism with its flush surfaces, glassless tailgate, and panoramic roof that harmonize with the body’s lines. The dramatic exterior is further accentuated by Jaguar’s revamped leaper emblem and geometric “strikethrough” motifs, symbolizing motion and progress.

JAGUAR

Presented in two evocative colors—Miami Pink and London Blue—the concept encapsulates Jaguar’s dual spirit. Miami Pink pays homage to Art Deco architecture, while London Blue reflects the brand’s British heritage, inspired by the classic Opalescent Silver Blue of 1960s Jaguars.

Inside, the concept showcases a modernist interior crafted with authentic materials like brass, travertine stone, and textiles. The cabin features dramatic butterfly doors, a 10.5-foot brass spine, and floating instrument panels, creating an awe-inspiring atmosphere. Deployable screens, soft-sliding storage compartments, and a Clearsight display add to the seamless blend of luxury and technology.

Jaguar’s Materiality design ideology elevates the tactile experience, incorporating natural textures and soothing colors. A standout feature, the Prism Case, allows occupants to customize the cabin’s mood using brass, travertine, or alabaster totems that influence lighting, soundscapes, and bespoke scents.

Underpinning the Type 00 is the Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), a dedicated platform enabling both the vehicle’s visionary design and its cutting-edge performance. The first production model on this platform, a four-door electric GT, is set to debut in late 2025, boasting a projected range of 430 miles (692 km) on a single charge and rapid-charging capabilities that add 200 miles (321 km) in just 15 minutes.

Jaguar’s journey isn’t confined to its vehicles. The brand is establishing immersive luxury retail spaces, with the first flagship store opening in Paris’s prestigious 8th arrondissement. These exclusive brand stores will complement a global network of high-end retailers, offering clients a personalized glimpse into the Jaguar experience.

JAGUAR

The Type 00 heralds a new era for Jaguar—a fearless reimagination of luxury electric vehicles in the electric age. Its design, philosophy, and technology signal the (controversial thus far) rebirth of a brand committed to excellence and artistic expression. What do you think about the new jag?
