992 GT3RS not track focused enough? Manthey has you covered

Few road cars embody track dedication quite like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Now, Porsche and Manthey Racing have collaborated to elevate this racetrack icon even further with the newly developed Manthey Kit, engineered specifically for the 992-generation GT3 RS.
The Manthey Kit introduces a suite of aerodynamic upgrades that heighten downforce and stability to an extent previously unseen in Porsche road cars. At the front, there is a 50 mm longer spoiler lip with a reprofiled wing shape that boosts downforce on the front axle. Supporting carbon fiber dive planes and revised Gurney flaps on the wheel arches further improve stability and cornering grip by channeling the airflow.

At the rear, the already colossal wing has been enhanced with a split carbon fiber DRS (Drag Reduction System) element and larger end plates, providing increased rear downforce and efficiency. Additionally, a carbon fiber shark fin derived from Porsche’s endurance racing prototype, the 963, improves cornering stability. Mounted on a lightweight carbon fiber rear window panel that is 25% lighter than the window on the standard 3RS, this fin also redirects warm air from the front radiator to maintain optimal engine cooling and high-speed linear stability.

These updates, combined with a wider, longer rear diffuser with extended carbon fiber fins, achieve a staggering aerodynamic milestone. At 285 km/h (177 mph), the Manthey-equipped GT3 RS generates over 1,000 kilograms (2,204 pounds) of downforce—an achievement that not only enhances cornering speeds but also delivers unmatched stability on fast and medium-speed tracks. A proper treat for the track enthusiast.

The Manthey Kit’s semi-active coilover suspension system is calibrated to handle the increased downforce. The spring rates have been stiffened by 30% at the front and 15% at the rear, ensuring the car maintains composure under extreme aerodynamic loads. A new control unit works alongside sensors on the wheels and body to provide ultra-responsive damper tuning.
The shock absorbers feature independently controlled valves for compression and rebound, allowing for precise adjustment to suit different driving conditions. Drivers can choose between three pre-set modes—Normal, Sport, and Track—with additional manual tuning options in Track mode, giving enthusiasts the ability to tailor the suspension to their preferences.

Braking is a critical aspect of any track-focused machine, and the Manthey Kit does not fall short in this regard. Steel-sheathed brake lines deliver improved pedal feel and response, while optional racing brake pads for models equipped with the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system reduce fade and offer consistent performance across a broad temperature range. These enhancements ensure maximum control and reliability during intense track sessions.

Beyond performance, the Manthey Kit offers visual and functional upgrades that reflect its motorsport DNA. Illuminated carbon fiber door sills with Manthey Racing branding, LED door projectors, and customizable decals for the aerodiscs and body provide an extra layer of personalization. A race-ready towing eye, available in red, black, or yellow, adds functionality for track use.

The immensely impressive Manthey Kit represents the culmination of two years of rigorous testing and development by the engineers at Porsche’s Weissach Development Centre and Manthey Racing’s headquarters in Meuspath. According to Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH, the kit has shown “significant improvements in lap times” during testing on European tracks, including the Nürburgring Nordschleife. While official lap times are pending, the data promises to make this kit a noticeable upgrade for serious track enthusiasts.
The Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS is now available for order from Porsche itself as part of the equipment. European deliveries begin in January 2025, with global availability set for March 2025. The kit is priced at approximately $79,973 (excluding installation), and its installation at authorized Porsche Centers does not affect the factory warranty.
