The Ford RS200 and Mk1 Escort are coming back

Boreham Motorworks, a division of DRVN Automotive Group, has signed a license agreement with Ford to produce a series of remastered icons.

BOREHAM MOTORWORKS

Following a tide of cars from the likes of Singer, Alfaholics, Kimera Automobili and many more, restomod culture has certainly seen a rise in popularity in recent years. These cars retain the most desirable qualities of beloved classics and improve upon their strengths and flaws with the help of contemporary engineering. Usually, this means a sizable increase in power, a beautifully crafted interior, the use of exotic composites, and a price tag to match.

BOREHAM MOTORWORKS

Boreham Motorworks is the most recent contender in this field and is set to revive the legendary Ford RS200 on its fortieth anniversary, promising an entirely new, ground-up build of a road-legal, Group B-inspired driver's car. Originally launched by Ford in 1984 for the Group B rallying, the RS200 is revered for its mid-engine layout, Cosworth-developed turbocharged four-cylinder, and advanced four-wheel-drive system. Boreham has been quite conservative in revealing the details, but history suggests that remastered will likely mean an enhancement upon the incredible platform that the RS200 already was.

BOREHAM MOTORWORKS

In addition to the RS200 project, Boreham Motorworks will be responsible for continuing some of Ford’s most iconic cars. These projects will result in blueprint-accurate, period-correct vehicles with Ford-approved continuation VINs. The first in this series is the Ford MK1 Escort. Introduced in the late 1960s, the MK1 Escort became synonymous with motorsport success due to its lightweight design and advanced suspension setup, offering exceptional handling and agility on both road and rally stages. The British brand says at least five more iconic Ford vehicles will follow, with the MK1 Escort continuation set to be revealed to the public later this year. Ford's and the brilliant-looking LED lights in the images suggest that these cars will be well-executed faithful revivals of some seriously epic cars.
