Dodge's new electric charger has the soundtrack of a V8

Since an electric challenger/charger replacement was first announced, The Charger Daytona EV raised questions about how it would preserve the auditory experience that has become synonymous with the Charger name. Well, Dodge has recently released a video on Instagram showcasing the Charger Daytona EV in action, introducing the "Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust," a system designed to emulate the thunderous sound of a V-8 engine. This system uses two passive radiators to generate noise that increases with speed, rather than a mundane speaker set.
Although the exact workings of the Fratzonic system remain under wraps, the original concept claimed it could produce a staggering 126 decibels. While it remains to be seen if this will make it to the production model, the current demonstrations are impressively loud and convincingly true to the Charger’s roots. The synthetic exhaust note is convincingly similar to that of a traditional V-8, with a high-pitched whine during acceleration reminiscent of both the whir of an electric motor and the wail of a supercharger on a Hemi. For those who prefer the silent operation of an EV, the Charger Daytona offers a Stealth mode that turns off the Fratzonic system, allowing drivers to enjoy quiet efficiency, with of course, no compromise in performance.
